Monika began her journey as a Waldorf teacher in 1999. She created the music program at Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School in Viroqua, WI where she directed orchestra, chorus and taught general music, strings and also served as Faculty and College chair. Monika has been involved in teacher education for the past ten years - in addition to her work at GLWI, she is lead faculty at Sunbridge Institute in the Waldorf Elementary Music Teacher Education course and guest faculty at the Rudolf Steiner Centre in Toronto. She has led workshops at conferences in the US and Canada and provides consultation and mentorship for a number of Waldorf schools. Monika received Waldorf Certification from Sunbridge Institute in New York. She is a conservatory trained cellist and received her Bachelor of Music in from Indiana University and her Master of Music from Northwestern University, both in cello performance. She and her husband live in rural Wisconsin where they raised their four children, all Waldorf alumni.

Nancy Notley is returning to the GLWI Board having previously served as the Board President. Her 2 sons graduated from Prairie Hill Waldorf School and her 3 oldest grandchildren are attending Whatcom Hills Waldorf School in Bellingham, WA. Nancy served for 6 years as the Enrollment Director at Prairie Hill. Nancy earned her BA in Social Work from Ohio Wesleyan University, MA in Educational Psychology/Counseling from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and her law degree (JD) from Valparaiso University. Advanced training in mediation along with combining law and counseling led her to focus on the rights of children in cases involving custody, abuse and neglect. In the past decade Nancy became a certified personal trainer and cycling coach and has enjoyed working with women in their middle years becoming more physically active.
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Michigan University and has worked in a variety of fields including Substance Abuse, Home Care Hospice, Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and, most recently, Employee Wellness. She is an alumni parent of Prairie Hill Waldorf School, with two adult children. She recently retired as an RN, and continues to participate and serve at Prairie Hill, currently as a second-grade reading teacher.
Judy Larson is a CPA with an MA in Taxation. She recently retired from working in the accounting field. Her husband of 42 years, Dale, has also recently retired from Johnson Controls where he was a software engineer. They have two daughters who graduated from Prairie Hill Waldorf School. Their eldest daughter was in the first class at the school. Judy was the Treasure at PHWS for two different 3-year terms. She enjoys gardening and is looking forward to taking her 16-month granddaughter to playgroup this summer at PHWS.
Jane Danner-Sustar is a lead kindergarten teacher at Tamarack Waldorf School. Prior to that she worked as a caregiver and cook at LifeWays Childhood Center for eight years. She has a BA in Theater Arts from Marquette University, Waldorf Teacher Certification from Great Lakes Waldorf Institute and a LifeWays training certificate. She was raised in Milwaukee and is a parent of six Tamarack Waldorf alumni.
Dawn Van Kley-Imes

Dawn has a BA in Studio Art and Psychology from Southern Illinois University, in Carbondale, Illinois. She has been teaching handwork at Prairie Hill Waldorf School since 1990. Dawn has presented workshops in felting wool, knitting, spinning for children and adults. She completed the Juniper Tree Puppetry Training through Suzanne Down 2003-2005, attended Handwork Conferences at Kimberton WS with Margareta Eischenholz, has done Foundation Year Course work at Arcturus, Chicago, IL, and Waldorf Teacher Summer Intensives at GLWI Milwaukee, WI.
Moriya Russell is a parent at Tamarack Waldorf School, where she serves as a classroom leader and active participant of the school’s parent organization. She has experience with financial management and accounting across varied industries, including legal, insurance, and banking. She prides herself on contributing innovative and precise improvements to organizations, processes, and workflows. She earned her BA in History from UW-Milwaukee with minors in Africology, Women’s Studies and LGBT Studies. She is actively involved in community improvement, education at all levels, and social justice.
