Brian Gleichauf MA

Instructor

Brian Gleichauf holds a BA in Physics from Michigan State University, an M.A. in Theological Studies from McCormick Theological Seminary, and a Waldorf Certificate from the Center for Anthroposophy.

Brian taught 6th through12th grade science and math at Chicago Waldorf School from 2003-2013.  While at CWS, Brian was a co-founder of the Ruby Community Garden in Schreiber Park, and initiated many new programs, including a 9th grade Agriculture Experiential block, a Green Team, and an Active Transportation Club. In 2014, Brian was hired as the first Lead Teacher to open a new high school for Tamarack Waldorf School in Milwaukee. At that new high school, Brian co-initiated Experiential Learning as a weekly out-of-classroom experience for all students and Practical Work as another new branch of high school learning.

Brian currently resides in Racine, WI, with his wife, Jenny; daughter, Evie; five chickens; and a mess of beehives.  He volunteers often in his neighborhood and church, tends bees, teaches several courses as an adjunct professor at Carthage College, and sometimes teaches, mentors, and performs evaluations for Waldorf schools.  In addition to holistic education, Brian is passionate about agrarian living, projective geometry, ecological thought and practice, bicycling, composting, land and people restoration, and permaculture.  Brian regularly self-publishes about these passions and other topics on his Substack page.
