Shawn Lavoie MA

Shawn Lavoie is a high school humanities, world language, and arts teacher, residing in the beautiful hills and valleys of southwest Wisconsin with his wife and three small(ish) children. He's the faculty chair at the Youth Initiative High School, his professional home since 2008. At Youth Initiative, Shawn currently serves on the Board of Trustees, chairs the Curriculum Committee, and is an advisor. 

Over the years, he's participated in numerous Waldorf trainings, earned a masters in arts in education at Harvard Graduate School of Education, and did his undergraduate studies in anthropology at the University of Chicago.

Shawn loves to learn and to inspire learning--some things that he's inspired to learn about: indigenous cultures, Spanish, conflict resolution, games, and writing.
