
Michiyo Kishi
EC Instructor
Michiyo Kishi is a mixed-age kindergarten teacher at The Waldorf School of St. Louis, where she has taught early childhood classes from infant and caregivers classes through kindergarten for over 20 years. In addition to her classroom work, Michiyo has served as Faculty Chair and a board member, and a founding member of the Care Committee. She also values being part of the larger Waldorf community and serves as a mentor, a WECAN site visitor, and an AWSNA liaison.
Michiyo received a BA from Kobe College in Japan in English Language, completed Foundation Studies at Center for Anthroposophy, Waldorf early childhood teacher education certification training at Sunbridge Institute, LifeWays training, and Nurturing the Roots: A Three-Year Therapeutic Education Course for Early Childhood Educators. She is a mother of two grown children, both Waldorf alumni.
