This collection of songs is offered in deep gratitude for the inspiration that has guided its creation. I have often felt that the melodies arrived as quiet gifts from the spiritual world, where music and words are united long before they find expression on Earth. In moments of stillness, the melodies and words would come together, each completing the other, asking to be received with an open heart and shared with others.

It is my hope that these songs will find homes wherever people gather: in classrooms warmed by morning light, beneath the sheltering branches of trees along the path of the Haw River, on the shores of the Outer Banks, around family tables, in festivals throughout the seasons, and wherever hearts seek beauty, courage, and belonging. May they awaken joy, strengthen community, nourish the soul, and remind us that every human being carries a unique song into the world.

May we continue to listen deeply—to one another, to the living Earth, and to the quiet wisdom that speaks through beauty and kindness. For it is through listening that we remember our connection to one another, to the natural world, and to the divine source from which all true inspiration flows.
