
La’Shawnda Holman MA

La’Shawnda Holman is a rising fourth grade teacher at Emerson Waldorf School in Chapel Hill, NC. She has been nurturing the hearts and minds of young children since 2010. She began her teaching career in public school as a special education teacher. Later she discovered Waldorf education and decided to pursue training to become a Waldorf teacher.
La’Shawnda holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Liberty University, a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish from North Carolina Central University, and a Waldorf Teacher Certificate from Great Lakes Waldorf Institute. During her career she has worked as an instructional coach, mentor and teacher.
La’Shawnda is a lifelong learner with a passion for music and the arts. She believes that melodies are gifts from the spiritual realm that can be used as a gentle and nurturing force for all human beings; a force that is uniting, uplifting, comforting, and powerful. She has a passion for writing songs and singing with colleagues and friends. In her spare time, La'Shawnda enjoys teaching ballet and tap dance classes to young children and spending time in nature with her husband and children. She finds comfort and peace in listening to the ocean waves and watercolor painting. La’Shawnda strongly believes that Waldorf education is a healing education and is committed to the work of this movement.
