Teaching For Black Lives Grant

In September 2023, Great Lakes Waldorf Institute received a grant from Zinn Education Project (coordinated by Rethinking Schools and Teaching for Change) to host a Study Group on the book Teaching for Black Lives. One of the growing number of teacher-led study groups, Great Lakes's T4BL study group includes faculty, program participants, graduates, and community members.

Grounded in principles of Waldorf education, the T4BL group is committed to identifying 12 curricular components to incorporate into material across GLWI’s teacher training curriculum. Study group participants also developed a

summer course to help participants “Teach for Black Lives” in their Waldorf classrooms.
